Meeting Frequently Asked Questions
Pink Pistols Asheville meets once a month. Here are a few questions we frequently get asked about where we host and what folks need to do to attend. If you have additional questions, please reach out via the "Reach Out" tab!
Why don't you publish the meeting place?
In order to protect our community, we ask that folks are either brought to the meeting by a trusted friend or vetted by a community member.
If you don't know someone in the group to vouch for you, you'll meet a few members to vet you in a secondary location, usually a coffee shop in town. This location will be attached to the event here on the website.
After this vetting, we will let you know the place where the meeting proper will take place.
What does vetting look like?
Vetting is pretty casual! A member or two will talk with you and other folks who are interested in attending the meeting. We'll ask you a few questions, talk about our overall goals and the specific meeting you'll attend, and generally just chat.
It is an informal "vibe check" to ensure you're a safe person for our group.
We will not ask you if you are LGBTQ, and as long as you're affirming of other members we won't have a problem.
Can I bring a gun to show the group?
Yes! If you bring a firearm to our meeting space to be shown to the group, please ensure it is cleared and unloaded.
Additionally, please carry it into the space in a case (we aren't picky if it's soft or hard) and keep in mind another member will verify it's cleared before the meeting.
Can I carry while attending a meeting?
Folks can carry at our meetings, either open or concealed. We just ask that (excluding an emergency where defending yourself is needed) the gun remains in the holster during the meeting.
There is no requirement to reveal you are concealed carrying if that's how you choose to arrive to our meetings.
Does Pink Pistols Asheville take roll or attendance?
Pink Pistols Asheville will not take roll or attendance. Someone is a member as long as they declare themselves to be a member.
We may keep in touch in ways that require your email or phone number. Please know you are not required to give any contact info to Pink Pistols Asheville in order to attend and learn from our meetings or range days.
Is anything said in Pink Pistols Asheville legal advice?
Our goal is to always give safe, legal, and responsible advice in Pink Pistols Asheville meetings.
With that said, any advice or education distributed through Pink Pistols Asheville, including about the law, is not a substitute for the advice of your lawyer. We encourage members to do your own research and, if you hear something that feels incorrect, please speak up!
